Line Dance Class

Class Description: This is a 8 week session starting the week of June 6th which will be a beginner line dancing class including but not limited too: Waltz, Polka, Rumba, Electric Slide, Cha Cha, and other fun Latin and American line dances.
 

What to wear: Participants are encouraged to dress in comfortable clothes and shoes. Tennis shoes are not recommended because they can stick to the floor and do not allow easy turning. You want shoes that will slide and allow you to turn comfortably.

 

Class times: Friday- 10:00-11:00 AM in the Community Room-Starts June 6th

 

Early Registration: May 5th-June 2nd at the YMCA front desk


Late Registration: June 3rd-June 13th at the YMCA front desk.

No phone registrations will be accepted. Class is limited to the first 25 participants. A waiting list will be taken for additional sessions once the class has filled to the capacity.

Prices: 8 Week Session Per Person
            Members $30.00          Non-Members $60.00
            Full payment is due at registration at the YMCA front desk.

Fitness Class Descriptions

Level I Step- A class packed with powerful and fun moves with an emphasis on cardio conditioning and trouble spot toning. This class is for intermediate fitness levels.

Step/Ball Mix- A mix of high intensity cardiovascular challenge using a variety of step combinations, stability ball, resistance bands, and leg and hand weights. This is an interval class and for all fitness levels.

Level II Toning- Strength, endurance, conditioning and toning program for all major muscles. Designed to help promote lean body mass and raise your fitness level.

Pilates- Core muscle training.

Tai-Chi- Traditional Chinese martial arts and slow exercise aimed at flexibility and circulation that is beneficial to the health of both men and women.

 

SilverSneakers- An exercise program designed exclusively for older adults. Class focuses on cardiovascular health, muscle strength, balance, coordination, flexibility, activity for daily living skills, general conditioning

Cybex Training Orientations

Cybex is a type of brand name machine equipment that the YMCA has in the fitness center. It is great equipment for beginners or seasoned veterans. The equipment is versatile and easy to use. It is very important to make sure you know how to adjust the equipment so that it fits your body. Members can register at the front desk for a free orientation with fitness coordinator, Teri Chamberlain.
